SHOULD CASTLE/BECKETT FANS BE WORRIED?

Aside from a few bumps along the way, this season of Castle has been filled with lots of joy for Castle and Beckett - the “honeymoon period,” as executive producer Andrew Marlowe calls it. But will the May 13 finale bring an official end to this honeymoon?

“I think the finale’s goal is to ask some hard ( Read more... )

After reading those comments and speculations, I think I should put down some of mine as well.

First of all, I don't think Caskett would breakup, or even having a temp breakup. They're solid as a couple, and will face and go through these different bumps together. I have faith in Marlowe for not breaking them up.

Secondly, I think "forced" is because of the offer. I do believe when Gate heard of the offer, she will ask Beckett and Castle about that (becoz Castle is her partner). That she may need to drop the bomb shells about the job offer, and the their relationship. Of course, when Gate heard that, she may ask them to leave, let them think. Thus I believe, the swing scene is the aftermath of a talk with Gate, talking about their relationship and work.

Since we confirmed that the swing scenes are involved, I think this years' finale would be similar as last year's (about the relationship-stuff) Castle may be angry at her for hiding the interview and job offer, while Kate may rant on him about their relationship and his wall. That's why they don't look so happy on the swing set. Maybe Kate would give Castle an ultimatum (it may be ooc, as usually she won't push him, but under this circumstance it may happen), make him choose between their relationship and their career. At the end Castle would go to Beckett's apartment, and told her his decision (which I think he would keep his relationship with Beckett), and the truth behind his wall. I do believe, Castle had some tragic past, something that made him shell his truth self from the others, using his "boyhood" to hide his "manhood", similar to ptsd. It should be something really heavy and tragic. And from Castle's reactions towards lies on "47 seconds" I think he was being betrayed in the past in multiple times, or in life and death situations. With Castle's other problems, I think Castle had his wall to protect himself from getting hurt again. Castle had been around Beckett for years, and I do think he would feel safe to tell her about his past. The "emotional" part of it may not be just from the bombshells and the relatiobship stuff, but about Castle's past as well.

In addition, I don't think Beckett would leave nypd. She cared about loyalty and friendship. She has her friends, loyalty, reputation and partner in NYPD. After the betrayal and tragedies they faced, I don't think she would leave them all behind, to have a future that she may face these betrayal and tragedies again. She may transfer IF IT happens at the end of season 3, I guess. Even Vaughn dropped the bombshell about relationship and work, saying "Heart Misleadings Shouldn't End A Career", with Castle's reassurance I think she would drop her insecurity, just like what happen in "Cloudy with a Chance of Murder" and "After Hours". (although I must say I too had a bit of an issue with Kate hesitating about their relationship being serious. I must say I agree on the idea that people who wrote TSATQ just didn’t watch all seasons of Castle, or a bad attempt to bring back the banter in season 1 to 3. But this is an ep of season 5, not season 1 to 3. It is out of character for Beckett to be worrying about that now) Besides, we never heard of anyone leaving the show. Maybe Gate will send someone new as Kate's partner, a third wheel in Caskett's professional partnership. That also fit Marlowe's foreshadowing of "potentially change everyone’s lives forever"

And since Martha dropped the idea of the ring through her comment "without a ring Beckett is not technically committed", I do think Castle would buy Beckett a ring (although I'm totally disagree on Martha's comment). I don't think it is an engagement ring (it is too soon for them, and it goes the same for pregancy), but a ring of promise and commitment, to show her that he want a life with her, to show that he is committed in this relationship as well. I believe in the ep we would have some scenes of Castle walked to the elevator in a sad face, and Kate looked worried with him, with the guys having pity faces on them, becoz they know Castle was being kicked out from the precinct again, and season 6 would start as Castle fight his way back to the precinct.

And as for Stana's saying about Beckett's career advancement, I think she hinted a promotion to detective 1st grade. Again, it would be hard for Caskett if Beckett accept the job offer, and I think Gate would use it to keep her here. Besides, the team deserve a promotion.

Anyway, they're just my speculation. We would have the whole story after watching the finale, or on September.
Btw, I haven't watch the leaked ep of "Still".

Just watched the leaked ep of Still. I must say, it ends like season finale/mid-season finale. Besides, I favour the ring-engagement theory more, and have more doubt on why Kate's insecurity resurface again on 5x22.

Engagement is way too soon for them. They've got a ways to go before that.

I see Beckett choosing a new job, creates a new drama and story for the show.
