SHOULD CASTLE/BECKETT FANS BE WORRIED?

Aside from a few bumps along the way, this season of Castle has been filled with lots of joy for Castle and Beckett - the “honeymoon period,” as executive producer Andrew Marlowe calls it. But will the May 13 finale bring an official end to this honeymoon?

“I think the finale’s goal is to ask some hard ( Read more... )

After reading those comments and speculations, I think I should put down some of mine as well ( ... )

And since Martha dropped the idea of the ring through her comment "without a ring Beckett is not technically committed", I do think Castle would buy Beckett a ring (although I'm totally disagree on Martha's comment). I don't think it is an engagement ring (it is too soon for them, and it goes the same for pregancy), but a ring of promise and commitment, to show her that he want a life with her, to show that he is committed in this relationship as well. I believe in the ep we would have some scenes of Castle walked to the elevator in a sad face, and Kate looked worried with him, with the guys having pity faces on them, becoz they know Castle was being kicked out from the precinct again, and season 6 would start as Castle fight his way back to the precinct ( ... )

Just watched the leaked ep of Still. I must say, it ends like season finale/mid-season finale. Besides, I favour the ring-engagement theory more, and have more doubt on why Kate's insecurity resurface again on 5x22.

Engagement is way too soon for them. They've got a ways to go before that.

I see Beckett choosing a new job, creates a new drama and story for the show.

One more thing that might go into the equation is that they don't know yet, at least not officially, if there is going to be a season 6. So wouldn't they have to end the season at a note that could as well be the end of the show?

They did this with "Always" last year - had there not been a season 5, and barring the last scene (not that last scene, the scene that REALLY took up the last few seconds of the ep) it would have rounded up the entire show.

So I am thinking if they end it at a point where they and we don't really know what the future will bring for them, there will at least be a realm of possibilities and most of them will be positive, with that touch of new beginnings and exciting challenges.

Oh there will definitely be a season 6. Season 5 is the most watched of all the Castle's season and one of the most watched show on Monday nights. It WILL be renewed.

We won't know officially till next month because it's standard for ABC to announce renewals then. If I'm not wrong, ABC hasn't renewed any of their shows yet - so do a lot of the other networks (except maybe FOX).

I honestly don't know why fans are worried. You don't cancel a show that has had about 10-11 million viewers for most of the season.

See, there is so much contradicting information out there - there is the "rates are falling constantly" (really? I recall them rising 15% from week before last to last week) to "this is their most-watched season" to "but rates in the oh-so-important 19-49 years bracket are falling" that it's really hard to pick WHAT to believe ( ... )

Did any of you found the whole “Beckett got a job offer and had to choose between her relationship with Castle and her career” storyline sounds similar to Kyra’s storyline ( ... )

I never thought about Kyra! So yeah, it would be an interesting parallel.
