Ok, I have a little bit of time before my next class, and since the combination of motivation and time is likely to be lacking in the near future, I figured I'd update now. Plus, I don't really want to do more work.

So: ummmmmm....what was my last entry? I totally forget. Let me check.

Right! Germany! Ok, in the two weeks that happened since then, Michelle came and visited us for one of them! It was exciting and fun and love all over. She flew in on Friday evening, Sharona and I met her at the train station (Victoria to be exact, I love Victoria station. It is all big and shiny and such), introduced her to the glory that is cadbury-cream egg McFlurries (Oh McDonalds, how I love your British branch for inventing and providing that) then went home for a night of drinkning and partying in honor of Brandon's birthday. I got pleasantly sloshed and we preceeded to have a dance party in the kitchen (with lots of embarrassing pictures resulting, let me assure you, in one of which I look pregnant becuase of my loose swishy shirt) which then traveled up to my room/the party/living room for two hours of twilight zone torture otherwise known as the Star Wars Holiday Special. Oh My Dear Living and Squishy God: PLEASE NEVER LET ME FOOLISHLY AGREE TO WATCH THAT AGAIN. Except maybe the wookie porn part. That was funny, I admit. Then Saturday was spent at the Tate Modern where we walked around, made fun of modern art (and the crazies that make it) and went down the slides. Yes, I said slides. The Tate Modern has an "exhibit" that is made up of free slides for all of its visitors to experience, one of which is five stories high. Oh yeah. You see, the point of it all is that we, as a society, are confined within our own worlds, hurtling through the air at speeds which restrict us from observing the world outside of ourselves, and the twisty, loopy, tall slides represent our separation from each other and desire to race through life (I think they were supposed to represent I-pod wires or something, and there are video cameras attached to it so you can log onto the internet and see people going down these slides). I really felt a connection with this revolutionary piece of work, the artist really spoke to me, so much that I feel moved to go back and go down them again. See, that is modern art I approve of. Then, Easter Sunday resulted in a picnic in the park! The rest of the week was spent going to class and going to see Wicked and Monty Python's Spamalot with Michelle (oh, so much fun. I love Monty Python). THen, to my eternal misery, Michelle left me on the next Friday. My pillow was wet with...tears. Yeah...it was wet with...tears that night and in the morning she left me on a jet plane. Or was leaving me on a jet plane. Both actually, becuase I consoled myself by going to Ireland.

Ahhhh...Ireland. It really is very green. I wonder if they ever get sick of that color? Anyway, we went to Dublin and its surrounding beach area, and it was exceedingly lovely. we hiked a lot and I took lots of pictures, and apparently James Joyce is very big there. Seriously, we saw at least 10 various James Joyce memorials, including three statues, two museums, and a street which used to be the "prostitute" street in Joyce's time. I think they were memorializing something else about J.J. besides his books with that one. Anyway, I bought my family and some of my friends (I'm not telling which) presents while there, and went to a very traditional Irish pub where I got to hear real Irish music in its own environment. Apparently, they just sit in a circle in a pub and have a jam session with various mucians who come and go and drink and play, comepletely ignoring the rest of us who clap when they finish a song and stomp our feet along to the music. I also had Guiness, the national drink, or just about. Yay Guiness!

Anywhat, that was it for the fun stuff for a while. I might go to France this weekend for a day, but we will see. I have oodles of homework to do and little time to do it in. saldy. In fact, these past ten minutes were just a break from homework, as I just finished a presentation and will now move onto writing a paper and going to class. Oh joy.
