I'm just reading what you have here, not rewatching, because my first watch was only last week, ffs. But I remember that when I watched the Pilot, I was not wowed. I was afraid it was going to be way too cliched a 'girl badass cop' show, and thought Beckett tried too hard. I loved Castle from the start though. From. The. Start.

I fell in love with Kate later. (Quite a bit later, actually. Maybe during these rewatches I can determine exactly when it was. It probably had something to do with the hair. Sorry.)

And trading PB hand!porn for Castle eye!porn is fine by me. Both winners in my book.

Hey you! ikwym about not being wowed at first. NF's humor is what hooked me from day one too, though I liked Kate as well (I think it was that conversation they had, about 'something happened to you' and her reaction). Still, NOTHING, compared to the addiction that this whole thing turned into later.

I wasn't into the hair AT ALL at first, but had seen some of eveningflares S3 pictures before watching this, so I knew it got great later and just waited it out :)

I'll be curious to know when it went from meh to luv re KB for you, hon! Thanks for stopping by here, btw *hugs*

That's funny! Glad I'm not the only one so shallow! Castle's humor owned me from the start, but I'll be curious too to see when KB won me over. I'm thinking it had to be S2. When was the 'Nikki Heat' ep where she's trailed by the actress? I loved that, and I think it's when her personality was first endeared to me. I liked her before that, but after that, she owned me.

Oh, that's way in S3. 3.11 Nikki Heat, yes. Probably the funniest ep ever (imo). Beckett was great in that, for sure!

Oh, and the beckett swagger YES I think the 'you have no idea' and her walking away like that was that's all it took for Rick to go into crush-mode with her. Gosh, the look on his face... *stares*

So, what were we talking about, again? Oh, hon, this:

They way her face changes as he tells her and then his face when he realizes he's gone too far.

Is my favorite interaction of theirs in the Pilot (and a very memorable one for me over all). Because of what you mention, her FACE throughout it and then HIS, realizing he'd gone to far.

Oh, Jenny *hugs you* lol I totally agree about the Beckett!hair, hon, and could chat about it for hours (though I probably shouldn't o_O)

I honestly prefer the Mullet to the S1 hair. Especially the color. Though it's a hairdo that eventually just falls apart/looks odd as the hair grows, isn't it? Then it got flat, and it was ok. But then they gave it the S3 volume and killt us all DED.

Hi all, brand new to LJ but totes obsessed with all things Castle! V excited to hear about the the rewatch after being completely devo at end of s3. Just finished rewatching the pilot and I dont know WTF I was doing when I watched it first time round (paps I had a life back then LOL) but I was certainly not paying enough attention *slaps myself*. I started watching to get a certain sibling - no names - off my back and thought pfttt what a lame show, WHAT is she talking about!? I wonder how many eps I watched while flicking through a mag FFS or staring out the window thinking I really should go out and pick up those leaves. What a fool I was back then... Back in May. LOL

Gawd with the hair! But it really matters, doesn't it? We have to STARE at her when watching this. The hair needs to be PRETTY. The S1 hair hurt my eyes, tbh, don't even get me started on the color. But as I was saying to wrldposs upthread, I had seen a few pictures of what it looked like in S3 and just, wow, really helped me endure the eye!hurt.

And YES to her hair varying in length through the pilot. I think it had to do with the reshooting of Ryan's scenes. It's longer in teh ones with the 'new' Ryan (Seamus) isn't it???
