a.k.a. The one with the two Ryans
Hello! And welcome to
castle_rewatch. Thanks for joining us! We'll be doing the Pilot this week. Oh, and rewatching 1.01 too *g*
1.01 Flowers for Your Grave: "When a young woman is found dead under circumstances described exactly in a book written by acclaimed author Richard Castle, he is brought in to provide insight into..."

1. Amazing pick up re the second Ryan. I wonder if hardcore fans know all this (what? We are not hardcore if all we talk about is the Beckett hair, ffs!). Did you like the alternative Ryan? I also wonder at the role of Gina.
2. Thank goodness that Lanie came on board and Gines was given less of a role.
3. Absolutely agree that it's better to have KB less of a dateless, desperado. That 'saturday night' thing she said was SO not the KB of relationship mode, was it. Though I always laugh at Lanie's lipstick line (coz I have a sister that often makes those comments)
4. I liked her hair. I liked that it was different lengths. I even liked it slicked back when she handcuffed him to the car.
5. Rick: he's pretty gorgeous with the scruff. I liked his white, crumpled shirt, and although he was a bit more 'edgy', he also had the good grace to pull back when he was getting too close with the backstory.
6. Yes about KB calling him 'Ricky'. Just so wrong
7. Oh, you're obsessed with the JB watch? OMG!? You are going to buy one, aren't you?
8. I LOVE the part where Ryan and Esposito mock her books 'from the library of Katherine Beckett' and she says 'what are you? 12?)
9. LOVE the dialogue you've included, Laura, especially the one with Alexis and martha and the allowance. FUNNY. Also LOVE:
KB (about RC) His fans love him almost as much as he loves himself.
RC (when he has the perp) 'Psycho here needs a breath mint'
KB to Roy (RIP): can I speak to you in private, sir? Roy: No.
LOL
Thanks hon. I'll be back periodically to add things, I'm sure. GREAT first up post.

oh good LORD *slaps you hard* That was the worserer.
Hon, I've found new love for scruffy Rick. Remember how I said I preferred him clean shaven? Yeah. I don't.
And YES to those three lines, ffs. Also her 'Castle, are you ok?' when psycho has the gun on him? OH I'm a sucker for a good Beckett 'Castle, are you ok?'

Maybe in Season 4? When he's taken hostage and dragged out to the NY desert and threatened with death and Kate (bandaged, bruised) has to find him before he's kilt ...
Um. No?

I know a LOT of cops, Lauretta. NONE of them have long, flowing hair locks (granted, most of them are guys)
As much as I like the Beckett hair and heels, it's just not practical. However, we are talking about TV ...

I'm very ready to ignore things like that, btw, coz the heels are gorgeous and give way to great fic *g*

But yes, they are great for fictional purposes. Also, I love when she and Natalie talk about them in 311. GREAT.
What do you think about RC's clothes during 101? A lot more casual, weren't they? Compared to now?

But those starched buttoned-ups with the high collar of later seasons are a-ok too and quite sexy, as long as they're not plaid....

BRING back those, for goodness sake.
No one seems to like the plaid, do they? I don't mind them, but I;m all for the solid colours on RC.
Thanks for joining in the fun.

Yes, the plaid = no bueno. I personally like him in those dark red collared shirts and all black ensembles. He wore a purple shirt once, with a purple jacket, and he looked plain silly!
