Beavis, Butthead, and A Wheelbarrow

Mar 31, 2007 14:12

I just checked my library account on the NYPL site and I have 13 [13!] reserved items waiting to be picked up: 5 DVDs, 5 CDs, and 3 books. How? OK, I know how but I didn't think they would all within a week of each other. Sometimes I would wait months and months for these things to come through  - 2 of those DVDs have been there since the end of last year.

Why did I even reserve volumes 2 and 3 of The Beavis and Butthead Collection? There are hardly any music videos on them and those were the best part. I didn't know that when I reserved them LAST YEAR.

I'm just imagining some library clerk cramming more of my stuff on one of those shelves behind the desk while cursing my name. Well, my patron number, anyway. I'm going to have to go up to the desk with a wheelbarrow to pick all this crap up next week.

Also, I feel sort of like a tool for having more CDs and DVDs reserved than, you know, books. In my defense, I have a lot of books already out.

In other news, a cousin's Friends-Only profile made me make a MySpace last night. It's here. I feel so . . . dirty. Anyway, I woke up this morning to a bunch of strangers with Friend Requests - why? These are the folks that turn the Comments area into a "Make 500 Bucks Per Week From Home!" spamathon, right? This is all very new to me.

Two more days until Opening Day! With, um, Carl Pavano as the starting pitcher.

Prove me wrong, Carl!
