One of the drawbacks of leading the team meetings is that when noone volunteers to do something, I often find myself saying "Okay, I'll handle it." Which is stupid - what I should say is "Okay boss, you'll need to find someone to handle it." The latest thing I 'volunteered' for was providing on-call pager support from Jun 30 to Jul 6. Which means I have to stick close to home on the July 4th weekend [pout]. For most of the U.S. holidays, we can usually find a Canadian to provide coverage since it's not a holiday for them (and vice versa on the Canadian holidays.) I tried to convince one our Canadian teammates to take the week, but it turns out it's a holiday weekend for them too. Stupid Canadians having national holidays the same weekend as us. Copycats [tongue]. It's bad enough that they don't have the good grace to be Buddhists or some other non-Christian religion so Christmas is a problem week too - why do they have to go and have Canada Day on July 1st?
South Park was so right.
