Wasted youth
So some poor guy from Manitowoc, where I'm from, has been missing for around two weeks. I don't know him or anything, but I sure do feel bad for his wife and family.. it must be torture.
I was watching the local news this morn, and it was announced that they had arrested a guy in connection with the disappearance. Apparently he's just on a probation hold for lying to the cops about it at this point. They're not saying exactly what the lies were...
The arrested guy was one of the tight circle of losers I ran with in high school/ post high school. I considered him to be a close friend. It really makes me reflect on the different way my life has gone from the people who were my contemporaries way back then. It happens every so often.. one of the old buddies gets trucked off to jail, gets a write up in the paper, or the face shows up on the tivvy.
Makes me think. What could so easily have been.
And I catch myself thinking I have it rough now.
