Happy things

Since yesterday I talked about something that annoyed me, I figured today I would talk about something that I'm really jazzed about. A few weeks ago, I was feeling generally dissatisfied with the asian dramas that I was trying to watch. I just couldn't find a good one to get into. But the last couple of weeks have been great on that front. I finally got an opportunity to finish It started with a kiss, which may be my current favorite drama of all time (at the moment anyway). And I saw two really great Japanese dramas - Pride and Gokusen. I really liked both of these a lot (even though Pride got a bit rough towards the end), they just had such great characters. Both dramas have a male leads that seem to inspire a lot of devotion from fans. In Pride you have Kimura Takuya as Halu, the talented hockey player and in Gokusen you have Matsumoto Jun as the distrustful student Shin Sawada. I had seen each of these actors in a previous drama (Kimura Takuya in Engine and Matsumoto Jun in Hana yori dango - both of which are dramas that I love). I liked both guys in their roles a lot, but didn't think much of it. Well, now I have been converted.

Although I know that many people will disagree with me here, I have to say that I don't think that either man is particularly attractive. They are not ugly by any means, but I would walk by them on the street without much notice. But after seeing them each in two dramas, I have to say that there is something magnetic about each of them. I don't know how to explain it, other than they are amazing at what they do. I've now reached the point that I am willing to watch a series simply because one of these men is in it. I had been avoiding Kimi wa petto because I don't like the premise (a career woman taking in a homeless younger man and making him her pet). But ... Matsumoto Jun is in it, so now I guess I have to watch it (or at least give it a try). I also need to watch Hero, which has Kimura Takuya in it. So yeah for finding new stuff to watch!

Plus it's friday which means I get to sleep in tomorrow! Even though it's raining (and has been all day) it's still a great day!
