So, I had a Snape/Hermione dream...
So, I had a Snape/Hermione dream where Snape survived the bite wound in the Shrieking Shack and left Hogwarts to pursue full-time potions research and development [because he is so fucking done with Hogwarts]. Hermione went on to become a wizarding lawyer [because she is going to save the wizarding world from itself one case at a time].
The wizarding world has always had things similar to the Muggle world - moving portraits to moving pictures, etc. My mind supplied something like a wizard internet chatroom from the '90s: instead of a computer a special parchment is used to communicate. Similar to Tom Riddle's diary but without the evil soul piece. You have a handle and you simply write with your quill on the parchment and it appears on other parchments of people you want to talk to and such.
In my dream Hermione went by Jane in the parchment and Severus went by Peter, both names with some meaning attached to them. [In my dream Severus's middle name was with a P and not a T.] It was rather like a series of letters fanfic, but not quite. Chatroom parchment pen pals. Outside of the chat sessions Severus was friends with Lucius and Hermione had not married Ron. They don't know who they are, but they get to talking through the parchment and their attachment grows.
Then they meet in person and it is so awkward. Snape makes the comment when he finds out she's a lawyer, "I bet the judges hate you, always waving your hand in the air like Hogwarts and yelling objection." [Because we can all see Snape saying that and Hermione totally doing that.] They decided to remain friends, even though they knew each other now [they weren't going to meet to get sexy times, just to meet in RL like real friends] but eventually my dream got them to sexy times after they continued to chat on the parchment and see each other in person.
One of those Hermione is a grown woman far removed from Hogwarts type of fiction where Snape is not lusting after a student type of fics.
