Huzzuh for writing!
Dialogue fics are awesome...not that mine is entirely dialogue, but I am enjoying the repartee between Anamaria and Groves. Also, I researched French Caribbean cuisine in order to write this fic and I learned some awesome things about the lipstick tree and non-breakfast crepes.
It is funny, because this could technically be a sequel to a fic I started to write once, but never posted. I can't even find my unfinished work on any of my flash drives. I think I saved it on my hard drive on my old desktop that crashed and that's why I was never able to find it again.
Anyway, it was a post-CotBP/pre-DMC fic where Anamaria ran a fishing boat and restaurant stand on a small, out of the way island as a front for her smuggling business. What she didn't plan on was the popularity of her food and the notoriety it soon gained her. Tracking Sparrow, Norrington comes to the island seeking information. He leave Gillette in charge of the Dauntless while Groves tags along as the Commodore's backup. Gibbs happens to be eating at the stand and, still a wanted man, jumps behind the bar to hide under it. So, Anamaria has to convince Norrington that she doesn't know where Sparrow is and that there is no need to search her premise. It is a tense encounter made worse by the unusual heat of that day. I really should check my on-line back-up to see if any of this unfinished fic made it through my desktop crash. I remember it being a damn good story.
Anywho, would anyone like to beta this when I finish with it? It might need polish - it is going to be a one-shot and not something I'll revamp when I'm finished with it like All Your Nights Belong to Me.
