For months now I've been saying that this comm hasn't known how to get back to the dark roots that people like you and telera established a few years back. This is going to teach us all how to do it again.

They're cute regardless of what's happening.

Mercer: ::whines::
Beckett: Stop whining or I shall bugger you a second time!
Mercer: ...::whines::
Beckett: ::facepalm::

That's pretty much what happens! I'm sure of it :D
(and I read Beckett's line in my head with a bad French accent a la John Cleese)

As well you should have!

I just love how Mercer is all, "Tut, tut, tut, James, you've been a bad boy! ::strangle::"
Thankies! Moar to come!

I tend to just have all my characters going through existentialist crises without realizing that they're having one. That or some form of PTSD, Survivor's guilt, or other forms of slight/not-so-slight insanity.
I may write one where Beckett finds Mercer in Bedlam. It would explain a lot. :D

Okay, never mind.
"I may write one where Beckett finds Mercer in Bedlam. It would explain a lot. :D"
Do it. 'Cause I'm writing TWO Mercer/Norrington fics.

Well I've written two Mercer/Will - my second one is done I'm just not in the right head space to reread and edit it. xD
There's been a vague plot floating around in my head for some months now. I find insanity fascinating, and the supposed "treatment" of it even more so thus I find whatever chance I get to write about it.

Is it the one where you put Mercer in the spinning chair until he vomits out the insanity?
(And go read ch. 20 of AYNBtM, I just posted it the other day.)

"m'lord, 'e was a badger, used to be a dimber-damber, but don't worry I'll have 'im back'ed by morn. It's all bob."

Oh, man , I am editing/revising part two and it's even more awesome* that I originally envisioned it.
*And by awesome I mean dark as hell.
