mobius - Katherine/Elena - PG (2/2)scorpiod1March 31 2011, 09:26:28 UTC
Because they’re unwillingly intertwined in some way, their fate mirroring one another’s, wrapped around each other.
Like a mobius strip-you can twist and stare at it, but you can’t see the beginning-no one can. No beginning and no end. Katherine was here first, but she’s just another doppelganger, like Elena, and it all curves back unto each other.
Elena knows this. She thinks, by the way Katherine is looking at her-like she peering within her, reaching deep down and pulling something out-that she knows it too.
“I’m not afraid of you,” Elena says firmly.
“Oh, I know,” she coos, hands reaching out to twine her fingers through Elena’s hair. “That’s not what you’re afraid of.”
One hand leaves her hair and she runs her fingers down Elena’s side instead, her touch feather-light, until Elena can feel goosebumps on her flesh. Katherine bends her head low and her hair falls into her face, framing it perfectly; her posture makes her look like an animal, but animals don’t have eyes like that, calculating and cold as stone.
Katherine gazes at her like she wants to rip her to pieces, and then put her back together just to see what she gets (just like Katherine was torn apart, and what came together after was a merciless monster).
The thought makes Elena shudder and she jerks away. Katherine bursts into mocking laughter.
I will not become you, she wants to say, but Katherine’s smirk is wry, as if to say, no one’s untouchable, Elena-and she can’t think of a response.
If she looks hard enough at Katherine, Elena can see her life flash before her eyes; Klaus coming after her like some implacable force in the night, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, nothing but dead ends and unthinkable choices.
What will it take to survive, if she is to survive at all?
“I want you gone,” Elena says.
Katherine smiles her Cheshire cat grin, the kind that lingers in Elena’s mind long after she leaves her sight.
“Not possible, Elena,” she says, stepping closer. “You can’t be rid of me, I’m in everything. I’m deep within Damon and Stefan’s blood.”
Another step closer and she presses her lips to Elena’s before she can react or move away. “And I’m in yours.”
You can’t see the beginning or the end-it all just wraps around until there’s a tangled mess and two doppelgangers entwined.
Porn is of the good, but I'm glad for whatever I can get :)
This was painfully good. I loved Elena's observations of how eerie it is to see Katherine pretending to be her. And her determination not to become Katherine paired with her acceptance that she might. All of it packed such an emotional punch.
Oh, I'm glad you liked it :D I don't actually think Elena would become Katherine but after Katerina, I just think that would weigh on her mind and she's self-aware enough to not dismiss the possibility. Thank you :D
