Man possibly paralyzed in Pontiac robbery

Mike Martindale / The Detroit News

PONTIAC -- A 29-year-old Waterford Township man is hospitalized and possibly paralyzed from gunshot wounds suffered in an apparent early morning street robbery in Pontiac.
The victim, who was not identified, attempted to drive himself to the hospital but his car stopped in the middle of the street because he could not feel or move his legs. He then called 911.
"This appears nothing but an unrelated robbery at this time," said Pontiac Police Sgt. Kevin Braddock when asked if it might be related to recent shootings in that city.

The victim told police that shortly before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday he was parked in a driveway in the 100 block of Dwight Street when a man he knows as "Cash Money" walked up and demanded: "Give me your money." The victim said he handed over $20 but was then shot by "Cash Money" who is described as a black man, five-foot, six inches tall and 200 pounds with a tattoo of a tear drop on his cheek.
Anyone with information about the shooting or the suspect is asked to call police at (248) 758-3341.
