Ramblings

Hello and Happy Sunday!  Gosh it felt good to sleep in this morning!  And I'll have a peaceful day, just doing laundry and lazing about the house, fighting a darn summer cold.   But it gives me the excuse within my own mind to do very little today.  lol  I think I'll spend some time reading.   I"m almost finished with "Prince Caspian" and am tempted to re-read all of the Harry Potter books.  lol  But, no I'll wait until after the movie, "The Half Blood Prince" comes out.  ;)

Hubby and I have been taking day trips the last two weekends to see the lakes of New Mexico.  We're looking for a nice place to go fishing, boating and maybe retire. lol  The only problem is that we both love mountain lakes where there are lots of trees, woods, cabins to live in, a marina to keep a boat and warm (not hot) sunny weather.  roflmao About all you would find in New Mexico is desert lakes that have been sucked dry from drought, scrubby lil cedar bushes and state owned lands that are not for sale.  We did find one large lake that was still pretty full, but it had no woods and the marina was over-crowded with slips that had a three year waiting list.  Maybe we'll try some places we've heard about in southern Colorado. ;)

I've got three projects going, on our acre outside.  I"ve begun digging and leveling the area in back to landscape and prepare a section of it for grass.  I put in a small river with rock to control the run off from the canalies on the roof.  It seems to be working just fine and sure looks a whole lot better.  And I'm working on transplanting a huge cholla cactus that grew up through the middle of one large cedar bush.  Whew! I never realize how hard the wood is inside those things!  Thankfully, we have an electric saw. ;)

Inside we are now going on 13 months working on our living room.  The brick floor is finally in so the dust from that has settled.  Yesterday we shopped for the tile we will use as the base around the walls, but could not find what we want.  We'll shop some more next weekend.  We sure are slow about this, but a very busy life and old creaky bones keep us from it too often. lol

Work has become even more unbearable.  My supervisor has come to the realization that he doesn't have a clue what he is doing but his ego can't handle it so to make up for it he questions my every move and then argues with me on it.  Then I have to spend time I do not have to provide him the regulation guidance that proves him wrong.  I've got to the point that I don't care what I say to him.  *cries*  But there is another opportunity to hope...I put in for a lateral transfer.  And the person hiring knows me very well, knows my experience level and respects me.  I just hope the competition won't tempt her away from me. *is praying*  I've missed out on so many jobs lately that I am about to loose hope.

On a lighter note, my daughter, her boyfriend and I went to dinner the other night and somehow ended up in a conversation about the new Hobbit movie.  He mentioned that he had never seen LotR.  I about fell on the floor!  roflmao  I told him that if he intended to continue with a relationship with my daughter that he had to come over and watch all three extended versions with me.  *giggles*  He then proceeded to ask me a jillion questions about the books, movies, Tolkien, etc.  I enjoyed that meal like no other. lol

Have a blessed Sunday everyone!
