exploration with tea

I am not a tea person. I only became a coffee person over the last couple years and I still usually require some form of creamer (preferably Hazelnut flavored) with my coffee.

Inspired by the quite tasty white tea that phaedra-amunet generously shared with me at PF Changs this weekend, I decided to forego my normal morning coffee (also because our kitchenette is out of my favorite International Delights Hazlenut creamer), to make a foray into one of the many teas our kitchentte offers. Noting all the Good Things I've heard about Green Tea, I decided to take a stab at it. Let me reiterate: other than raspberry iced tea, Lipton Iced Green Tea, and the white tea I had this weekend, I haven't had more than a sip of tea my whole life. I take a look at the back of the Stash Premium Green Tea packet and it says to drink this tea plain. So I didn't add anything to it. It's...interesting. My tastes are somewhat juvenile, I'll admit. I can't say that I actually find the taste of Green Tea enjoyable, but then again I didn't like coffee or beer when I first tried them, and now I enjoy the taste of both quite often.

There's a plethora of different types of teas in my kitchenette. I think there's several black teas of different varieties, an earl grey (decaf...my interest level fades), one or two types of green tea, and something with jasmine that sounded awfully flowery and girly. Any suggestions on what to try next? Is Stash considered a fairly good type of tea? Also, once I am out of tea...do I grab another tea bag or do you add water a couple more times?

tea, new things
