Crazy skirt update #3
I'm currently at the craft day. My alarm went off at 8am but I didn't crawl of bed til 9. I cut all the interfacing and ironed it to the hems and waistband, then I showered and packed up everything for the craft day. I really need a smaller ironing board for things like this.
I hit the Magnolia Park Good Will on the way to my boyfriends and buy a straw hat (mental note: buy brown ribbon for hat!) and a brown scarf that I can make into a cravat. I really want a cameo brooch, but can't find one at Good Will or any of the small vintage stores around. I poke my head into an antique shop and they have some cameos in a locked display case! Yay! I ask to see the tray and pick up this beautiful just-perfect cameo and flip it over to see the price. $175. ACK! Apparently these are REAL cameos! Luckily they have fake ones also. I find a nice one for $25 (vintage) and after I tell the clerk about my costume, she let's me have it for $20!
I manage to get to the boyfriend mostly on time and we drive to the West Side. We grab lunch and then he drops me off at the craft day and heads off to his laser tag game. There are at least a dozen women here. It took me a good 30 minutes just to set everyhing up. I've sewed all the lining in and I'm starting to assemble the gores. Two hours left in craft day.
Whee. Crazy.
