the decline

is it any surprise i couldn't make it through the first two weeks of 2009 without one more failed relationship? this one only lasted about 4 days, which beat my previous record of 7 days set just a month and a half ago. granted, most of you wouldn't consider these minor incidents much of a relationship at all, but these are really all i have in that respect.

As you can see by this graph that i have constructed, not only am i extremely bored today, but that there is a very noticeable trend in the amount of time (measured in days for dramatic effect) women have been willing to put up with me over the last decade. granted, there are many more variables at play, and i couldn't figure out how to specify actually that the first three relationships were actually ended by me.

now. if this trend is to continue along the path its' on... well, it doesn't leave much hope for 2009 or any year after. other specialists have theorized, though (and by other specialists, i mean me), that since there really is no more room to drop and the numbers can only go up from here. i will, however, in the meantime assume the worst, as everything that can go wrong in my love life has always gone wrong at some point or another.

by this time, my heart feels like something between a shopping cart, a rental car, and a book mark. i'm not sure. something to be abused at your leisure, hold a particular space for a finite amount of time before flipping to your next chapter, and dropped off wherever convenient. and i think at this point i can accept that. i don't really believe in everyone having some particular purpose in the grand scheme of thing, but maybe that's partially mine.

in better news, Netflix has confused itself somehow thinking it owes me 4 movies at a time instead of 3. they're still charging me for 3, but insist on sending 4. i am not complaining.

i'm also trying to see the following this week at belcourt and green hills: Ballast and Rachel Getting Married. if anyone is interested, let me know.
