Spring is coming particularly early this year - after all those dire predictions that we were in for a tough winter. The only problem so far has been an excess of water. The crocuses are all out on the Meadows, at least a week before I would expect to see them. Some of them were out in the third week of January. On Sunday, when out for a walk, I noticed that the daffodils are on their way too. Some of them are even showing yellow buds, whih is extraordinary for this time of year.
Today, south of Hawick, I saw carpets of snowdrops. They were quite lovely - bank upon bank of white flowers.
