It's been raining a lot. In fact we've had more rain in the last two days than we normally get in the whole of August. It's been like the bloody monsoon. I went for a walk at lunchtime down to the river - it had temporarily stopped raining. It hasn't burst it's banks yet, but there are flood warnings. "really warm" !!! My handy little Celsius to Fahrenheit converter tells me that's 75 to 77 degrees - which is the high temperature we've been having here in what I would describe as an astoundingly cool August. It's all in what you're used to....

The humidity, now, that's nasty. Usually it gets so humid here in August that the varnish starts melting off the furniture, and if you don't make the bed in the morning, the sheets are wet when you tuck in at night.
