It's been raining a lot. In fact we've had more rain in the last two days than we normally get in the whole of August. It's been like the bloody monsoon. I went for a walk at lunchtime down to the river - it had temporarily stopped raining. It hasn't burst it's banks yet, but there are flood warnings. There was half a tree caught under the pedestrian bridge. The water is roaring and brown, foaming yellow in places. It joins the Tweed a couple of miles downstream, and that's a different colour, much greyer. It's interesting watching the waters merge.
It's really humid and warm - 24, 25 degrees. It's never usually this humid.
