Chapter 4
PG-13
When Olivia awoke the next morning with Casey wrapped tightly in her arms she had to smile that what she had wanted for so long had finally come true. Casey shifted, causing Liv to look down at her. “Morning there sleepy,” Liv smiled at Casey.
“Hey Liv, how’re you?” Casey looked groggily up at Liv, who was lying on her side facing Casey.
“Perfect.” Liv smiled at Casey as she leaned down and kissed her, the kiss slowly growing more passionate until *RING* the phone rang, causing Casey to pull away.
Laughing at the lousy timing of the phone call, Casey answered, “Hello? Oh, hi Serena. Well we talked and made love. I’m not telling you anything about it.   I know you think Liv is hot. She’s mine so hands off; I know you don’t have a sex life right now but that isn’t my fault. I know you miss her, Serena, but there’s nothing I can do to help you get her back sooner. Yeah, love you too. Bye.”
“What was that about?” Liv looked at Casey curiously.
Casey sighed before snuggling closer to Olivia, “Serena’s girlfriend was deployed to Iraq a year ago; Serena’s been beside herself with fear. The long-term separation is really getting to her. So she usually comes and hangs out with me; it works out well for the both of us, I get company and she finds comfort. They were just getting serious when she was deployed, leaving Serena here wondering if she’d see her again.”
“Can’t they email one another?”
“Well they did for awhile, but one day Alex stopped replying. She hasn’t replied for 6 weeks, and according to Alex’s mother her airplane was shot down. Since then she and the crew haven’t been heard from.”
“Wow, that’s horrible. So Serena’s worried she’s dead?”
“Well, that’s the thing: you see, they found the wreck but no bodies. They’ve declared Alex and the crew missing and presumed dead. I’ve told Serena she should consider moving on, dating someone else, but she refuses. She says she can’t cheat on Alex.”
“That’s certainly devotion.”
“If there’s one thing Serena Southerlyn is, it’s loyal. She’d go to the death squad before betray someone’s trust.” Casey snuggled even closer to Olivia, tracing Liv’s toned abs with her fingers. “I just wish I could help her.”

Having nowhere to run off to, Olivia and Casey spent the day together. They talked, made love, had lunch, made love, talked some more, made love; around dinnertime Olivia told Casey she needed to head home, shower, change. Casey packed an overnight bag and the two headed off to Liv’s apartment. They held hands in the cab and talked about work, specifically the new changes that would be occurring with Arthur’s retirement. Once in Olivia’s apartment, Casey could hold back no longer and pressed Liv against the door in a searing kiss that made Liv’s knees buckle, “You just keep surprising me, Case. I’m impressed.”
Casey laughed, causing Olivia to smile, “Well Liv, stick around, I guarantee you’ll learn things about me you never thought possible.”
“Lemme guess, you were a stripper?” Liv grinned as Casey playfully slapped her.
“Cute, but that’s not how you’re getting into my pants, detective.”
“Oh, I have other plans for getting into your pants, counselor,” Liv drawled, then smirked at Casey’s flush features.
