My father gave me a red amaryllis for Christmas one year. I treasured it.

It really was. This was over 30 years ago so I no longer have the plant. But the memories remain.

How lovely! And how odd- no water? Ever? Or does it just die at some point.....

Thanks!♥ The wax seals off the bulb, and it lives off the moisture that's inside it. The flowers are smaller and the stems are shorter than the ones planted in dirt, but I like that it's a "mini" version.

Thanks!♥ I'm amazed that I've had it for a year. I also had a white poinsettia that was a year old, but it only lasted until the end of December.
