"I Dreamed a Dream" is a very sad song, and it does make me think about life. But I picked this version of the song because the singing of it rises above the message it portrays. Susan Boyle had a dream when she walked on stage at Britain's Got Talent. She dreamed of being a professional singer, of being given a chance to shine. To be accepted. But because of her age, looks, and behavior (she has Asperger's), she wasn't treated with respect. Expectations were low. Then she began singing, and it became her moment of triumph. As she sang the last line "Now life has killed the dream I dreamed" the opposite happened... her dream became a reality!
