WARNINGS: Very loose spoilers for The Titan's Curse. Sort of.
NOTES: Also posted on cabin three and demigod elite. There's a few extra notes inside, and a few short explanations as to how each song relates to their relationship and the path I personally think their love took =)
So, Ariadne and Dionysus don't get anywhere near enough love in the PJ verse for me =P I loved the brief aspects of their relationship we did see in The Titan's Curse, especially the whole story Dion tells Percy about how all he wants to do is go back to Olympus where Ariadne is waiting for him and the fact that the only time Percy has ever seen him happy is when he's with his wife during the Winter Solstice. So, this is part love of the original stories of their relationship, part love of what little we got to see of them together in the books, and part ever-so-slightly cracky song choices following a personal fanon for a fanmix chronicling one of my favorite mythological relationships <3
Because I've been roleplaying Ari recently, a lot of the song choices for this fanmix have come out from her viewpoint, hence what is probably an over-use of Glee music in here. But I promise you, it all fits =P And in case anyone was wondering, my personal Ariadne and Dionysus as seen in my craptastic cover art are the beautiful Katie Cassidy, and the awesome Bradley Cooper ^_^

Ariadne feels like a prisoner in her own home sometimes, when she is the only one in her family who can see the amazing things beyond The Mist. She's terrified of an idea that has been haunting her recently - that her father would have her killed because she could reveal the secrets of his prized Labyrinth - and all she wants is a way to escape.

Visiting a feast at Crete, Dionysus sees a much younger Ariadne for the first time, and amazed that she recognizes him as a god. After a conversation with the young princess, he finds himself entranced by the fascinating mortal girl, and decides that one day, she will be his wife.

When Theseus arrives in Crete as one of the sacrifices to the Minotaur, Ariadne is utterly smitten with the handsome Athenian prince as soon as she sees him. After he promises to take her back to Athens with him once the Minotaur is slain, Ariadne decides to help him find a way to the heart of the Labyrinth to kill her monstrous half brother. Little does she know, her dashing hero will break her heart soon enough

I hunt for you with bloodied feet across the hallowed ground
After the thread she gave Theseus failed to help him reach the heart of the Labyrinth, Ariadne enters the deadly maze herself, and uses her gift to get Theseus to the Minotaur. The terrifying darkness of the maze is something that will stay with her for the rest of her life, both mortal and immortal.

I'm through with playing by the rules

As her father's people rise up to get revenge on Theseus for slaying the Minotaur, Ariadne leaves behind everything she's ever known with Theseus. He's finally given her the escape from Crete she's always dreamed of, and she remains blissfully unaware of the fact Theseus was just using her, and will abandon her soon enough.

The trees are bare and everywhere
The streets are full of strangers
When Ariadne awakes on Naxos to find Theseus and his men have left her there, all she can do is weep, heartbroken that he would betray her in such a way. The gods answer her prayer to make Theseus forget to change the sails of his ship from black to white, but the pain of abandonment is almost too much for her to bear.

The ups and the downs, and you still didn't leave

The Muses prevent Ariadne from taking her own life in despair and shame, promising her that a man who loved her for her bravery and loyalty would come to Naxos and rescue her. Dionysus finds Ariadne on the beach, making it his mission to heal her broken heart and make her forget all about the fool who abandoned her when she sacrificed everything to help him live.

Somewhere underneath your skin?
It's a long journey, but Ariadne's broken heart heals, and she falls madly in love with Dionysus before the two are married only a few months after he found her on Naxos. Living in a magnificent villa hidden away in the hills of Argos, Ariadne's life as the wife of a god is blissful. Only a month or so after the wedding, Ariadne discovers that she is pregnant, and she and Dionysus eagerly await the birth of their first child.

Wife of a god, and mother to six strong and healthy sons, Ariadne couldn't think of anything that would make her life more perfect than it is now. She loves Dionysus, and he loves her. Right now, that's all that matters.

When Dionysus goes into battle against the Argives, Ariadne happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and finds herself fatally wounded by Perseus. She uses all of her strength to cling to life long enough to tell her husband she loves him before she sees Thanatos waiting for her, and slips away to her journey into the Underworld.

As his beloved wife falls still in his arms, her life-blood staining his armor, Dionysus breaks down, grieving for his lost love. He knew she would die one day, but this...this is all wrong. It's too soon for either of them...

After giving Ariadne all the honor of a queen's funeral, Dionysus comes to a decision. He's going to brave the Underworld to bring Ariadne back, and this time, she will no longer need a mortal body. He can't cope with losing her again, so he will take her spirit to Olympus and make her immortal.

Stranger things have come true
Almost as soon as she enters Hades' realm, Ariadne's memories of life begin to grow patchy. She can remember seeing her father again at the Judgement Pavillion, and despite his harsh ruling, she earns a place in Elysium. But her heart aches for the life she had, and when she sees her husband striding through the small Elysian community, she runs straight into his arms and never looks back as he escorts her from the Underworld forever.

Not even in her wildest dreams had Ariadne considered the possibility of seeing Olympus for herself. She's stunned by the sheer beauty and grandeur of the place she had only heard of in stories, and still can't quite believe it will soon be her new home. (Random song choice I know, but it seems to fit somehow xD)

Through her newly immortal eyes, Olympus' beauty is even more stunning. She can't help but feel out of place among the gods who have been immortal their entire life, but the second Dionysus pulls her into a warm embrace, all of her fears fade away. They're together forever now, just as she'd always dreamed.

Though they have their problems like any other married gods and goddesses - be they demigod children from Dionysus' mortal affairs or pesky wood nymphs that result in them being separated for a whole century - Dionysus and Ariadne's love is one of the lesser known stories of the gods, but their love will endure more powerfully than any other for the rest of time. (And this is totally their theme song, so you get all the lyrics =P)
