39 and Counting

I stumbled upon this list today on one of the publishing blogs that I read: 1001 Books to Read Before You DieI'm somewhat ashamed to say that I've only read approximately 39... give or take a book or two in case I skimmed too quickly ( Read more... )

Heeee, I loved Day Of The Triffids. It was cheesy and grade B, but I just knew it could have been so much better ::grins::

I then read the book. I enjoyed it as well, but it's no deeper than the movie.

The story actually reminds me a lot of 28 Days.

I'd like to know why he put that one on the list. I guess I'll have to read the book that he wrote about the list of books to find out. ;-)

Um, heheh, I'm ashamed to say that I don't think I even recognise 39 of the titles OR authors. And of the, ah, dozen or so that I do, I've probably only read 3 or four. Does watching the movie count? *hides*

If we can count movies, I think I'd get up to 50 or so. :-)

That was rather depressing. Clock in at around 19 - though it's hard to scan that long list. Though the Watchmen by Alan Moore is actually a graphic novel - interesting inclusion. So thus, will be sharing with the geeks :P

Yeah, I thought they had an interesting array of genre choices on there -- more than most lists of this type. :-)
