Because remember, in season 1, she was that flirty sparky girl in the bar. She had issues, yes, but she was pretty sparkly. Remember what changed that? The surprise wife. The choosing of the surprise wife. The staircase.
Derek is being immature and self-centered. Yes, Meredith has problems that she needs to deal with. No, she isn't letting him in. But for him to whine to Burke about how hard he has it, when her life is disintegrating in a short span of time, and not to buck up, put off his own issues and help her with the fact that she is OUT of blood-family. . .not to mention the standing up.
And I have the sinking suspicion that it will be Meredith next week who makes all of the movement to Derek. And he will never realize EVER the pain he inflicted on her from Who's Zoomin Who through today. In (I think) Redbook, Dempsey makes a comment about Derek being the uber-lover, caring man. And he is SO not that for me right now. My own husband does a better job talking about his feelings and caring. . .and if you only knew. . .you would understand that was not a compliment. But I think that the hollywood gang thinks he's still McDreamy.
But I may listen at some point. You've helped comfort me. And since I know that they are kind of snarky, maybe I won't be surprised by it.
