 HI!
This is my last week before our Easter break!! I am going to go to New Zealand for about 10 days with a group of friends! I can't wait, we will be traveling around the South Island and plan on going black water rafting, do a glacier hike and canyon swinging.

Last weekend Tiffanie, Ashley and I went to Fraser Island, which is the largest sand island in the world. Needless to say, it was absolutely gorgeous! The island is full of freshwater creeks and lakes, which we got to swim in! The first day we saw a few beaches and then took a hike through a forest and then across sand dunes to get to a lake! The lake had dunes on one side, and then a forest on the other. Due to the forest and it previously being a river, it had a green tint due to algea and plant life. There was catfish and little fish, which when I stood still tried to bite me!
The next day we saw a place called Rainbow Gorge, which was where the dunes previously were. I was definitely in my geo element and loved it! The sand was such a wide range of colors-red, orange, pure white. After the dunes, we went to a look out point called Indian Head which had the most beautiful views!!! You could see the beach front, then the intertidal zone with plants, and the dunes! It was right out of a textbook! :) We also saw a shipwreck on this day which was cool. Here we saw a manta ray too! Our last stop was at a creek, where the current was really strong so we just jumped in and let it take us down! It was a little chilly!! We also saw a dingo, kookaburra, guanna, and a fresh water eel on that day!
The last day we first went through the rainforest. Then we went to this lake where the sand was pure white and the water was crystal clear. Except for the center was black due to plant accumulation which are decaying and are black due to the carbon. At the lake one of our guides found a turtle in the shrub, it was so cute!!

It only let me upload one pic due to my internet, but I will try to upload more this week.

Me and the turtle!
