Spent the whole day at work moving old furniture, computers, and boxes of supplies out of my office, and moving new furniture, new computers, and the very same boxes back into my office. A little sore and full of dust, I am.
Finally, some decent furniture. The old stuff was an ergonomic catastrophe and I was totally perishing in there. And the new Mac Pro is super sexy-looking, but I still can't play on the damn thing because it apparently won't function with the old Cinema monitor I had from before. *sigh* Oh well. I did finally troubleshoot my way through the video codec issues I've battled for an entire year, which means FINALLY I can show people video on which I've worked over the web. For example, last night, before she left town, I surprised
dreadful_red with a 15 minute clip of her
Dark Side Tribal performance at
Axis of Evil (from this summer). Win and awesome. If you care to see it, email me for a link. Yay for pleasing bellydancers.
So now, after working at my job for nearly two years, I basically earned a real office, with no hand-me-down computers or desks, even though I share it sometimes. It's sort of exciting. :)
Other than that, I'm busy dipping my hands into additional pools of opportunity involving local art and national music. I'm trying to rekindle some sense of pleasant, innovative, gleeful 'splody in my life so I don't fall back into marinating in the doldrums, and if that means biting off massive chunks of mad scheme cream pie and diving headfirst into the big time with a cherry on top...all the better. You too shall benefit from my efforts, promise.
This weekend I shall prototype, paint, and smash various and sundry things together. Like you do.
Now off to immerse myself in yet another round of Katamari Damacy. Damn, that is an addictive game.
