[Open Post] A Labor of Love
All summer long, Cathy has been cooped up in the library or her room, writing her novel. Her first novel, and it is now finished. She's sitting in the main room with the one and only copy of it, hoping to share it with anyone who happens by who has half an interest in it.
The front page of the red cloth-bound journal reads, in her neat, copperplate handwriting, "The Mansion of the Mysteries, by Miss C. Morland".
Her eyes are a little red-rimmed, as she's been up late at night for several nights, copying the text into the journal, from the loose grubby sheets of paper she'd been writing on.
Our young Twi-hard has written her first book and she's ready to share it with the world, purple-prose and all. Friends and new faces can either meet her in the main room, or find the journal laying on a table and pick up to read it: she'll be along shortly to welcome any compliments and comments.
