In comes our Thespian Lawyer, extremely curious about a role.

"Hello, Mr. Bergerac?"

Cyrano looks up, intrigued. "Monsieur?"

It's a good thing that Phoenix came to him. That alone is a good start.

"I saw the ad in the main room. Are you still looking for male actors?"

It's been a while since Feenie's been on stage.

"I am," Cyrano replies. "Four males, four females, and a few extras for guards. Were you interested in participating?"

I've been thinking that Cyrano might post results to the board when threads are over here, we might make it a mingler? What do you think? Would that work for you?

"Yes I am. I was wondering if I could try out for a part. No matter how small."

Oh Phoenix, so humble.

Personally I think a mingler would be best.

"Hmmm, well," Cyrano replies, "I do have interest in finding 8 actors," he says, waving at the poster.

"Have you played before, pray tell?"

As that was the suggested plan, it seems we are in agreement! ^^

"Yes, I have. Before I became a Attorney, I was a art and theatre major in college."
He blinks once however, and has a shy look on his face.

"I only had bit parts, however. Not anything special."

"Nonetheless," Cyrano asks, "Which parts were those?"

"Well, if I wasn't an extra. I was usually the understudy to male leads. I was the Phantom's understudy, Romeo's understudy, Macbeth's Understudy... you get the point. I had to memorize all their lines and make sure my acting and singing was correct, just in case. But that never happened."

In other words, he's telling you he never got a lead role, but he was good enough to secure the next best thing.

Good thing that Phoenix mentioned two pieces by Shakespeare. That one, Cyrano is familiar with (and admires). He has no clue who or what the Phantom is, though.

"I see," he replies. "Well. I suppose I might get you to do a reading or two, to start."

He hands Phoenix a sheet, which contains the following tirade:
Lord, it has been judged, they read your letter ( ... )

Phoenix turns his back on Cyrano, preparing as best as he can, he knows about announcing crucial, important news in a room-filling voice. (He's a defense attorney, it's part of the freakin' job.)

"Ok. Ready..."

He recites his part, back straight, shoulders taut, but a strange fire is in his eyes and voice as he speaks.

After he's done, he exhales. I've forgotten how great this feels...

Phoenix is certainly a good fit for the part: he seems to have indeed the voice, the countenance necessary for a senator's role.

Cyrano nods, scribbles something on a random sheet of paper.

"Hm, and the hair?"

Yes, he's asking about the hair. Is anyone surprised?

Not really. (I mean, LOOK AT IT.)

Phoenix sweatdrops. "It's always that way, sir... if I could, I would change it."

Well, we'll just have to get you a wig, Cyrano doesn't say.

"Very well," he says. "That will be all, thank you."

And ready to wrap them up? I'm trying to finish the post up so that I can punt the casting results mingler to the com shortly. XD
