[Mingler] Gong Hey Fat Choy! (Congratulations and be prosperous)

Feb 04, 2011 00:12

Riku has fond memories of Setsuban or the Lunar New Year, and given the number of Chinese immigrants in their neighborhood, his dad had offered a double celebration at Omoro. And so, as part of continuing to give back to the Mansion and the people in it, he's spent the past day cooking up a buffet of Asian delicacies, including Chinese dumplings ( Read more... )

Angelique wanders in, absolutely not expecting the kitchen to be... well, whatever it is. Hm.

And sees the dragon. Her eyes widen.

She doesn't quite scream... but almost, and is in the doorway, her heart beating much faster than is healthy.

It's your best friend, Angelique!

A sword riding on his hip, and if he's not in a good mood, Sandor isn't in an extraordinarily poor mood either. "Relax, girl," he growls, from just behind her, since she is in the doorway and he was walking through. "It's not a real dragon. Don't be a fool."

She might bump into him, then, because she was cautiously backing out of the room, and the contact and the voice make Angelique squeak.

"-- Hound," she squeaks. "--- It's been a long time."

He tries to move away from her, and does, but not until after the bump, and his expression spasms a little. "So it has," he growls. "Good to see you're still a nervous fool."

The words are harsh, but he might be surreptitiously looking her over, making sure she's still...in one piece. He kind of doubts it every time.

Angelique looks up at him, smiles a little, quirkily. "It's nice to see you too, Hound."

If he's paying attention, he might note that she is a touch stouter, a touch more assured, certainly more willing to tease back.

And, most importantly, absolutely not afraid of him.

She does seem it, and it makes a small frown flicker between his eyebrows, though the rest of his face remains stony, eyes narrowing at her. His mouth twitches, barely.

"When did you grow a sense of humor?"

"Shortly after my wedding," she replies, happily. And looking up at Sandor, Angelique frowns. "Which you did not attend. That was unpleasant of you."

Sandor's expression doesn't quite darken. In fact, he just blinks a little, seeming ...confused. Underneath his careful mask. "Why would I come to a Stark's wedding," he says, roughly. "Or a Martell's, for that matter. I don't do weddings."

"You wanted to offer Robb your sword, did you not tell me this, once?" Whether he did or not - Angelique may be making this up. "If you still wanted to, his wife might... intercede, Sandor."

She gives him a sweet, innocent smile.

It's interesting, what sex can do to the innocent. Angelique is finding resources in it - and is using them.

Her author said that if she hadn't been as sheltered, she might have been a manipulative woman, using sex for it. I'm slowly nudging her in that direction, now that she's married. She'll still be goodly, just... more shrewd. >.>

Sandor stares at her.

"What the fuck happened to you?" He asks, roughly, but its to disguise his bewilderment. She has a point, admittedly. It would be nice not to have to watch his back for the Stark-boy along with everyone else.

GO ANGELIQUE! Use your knowledge for good. >:D

"Please, Sandor," Angelique replies calmly. "You know I don't like when you are rude to me, and I know that you don't mean it."

She gives him a small smile. "Or should I tell my husband that you are not to be trusted?"

SHE WILL TRY HER DARNDEST!

...no, he doesn't want that. Sandor's jaw clicks shut, and finally he jerks his head in a tiny shake. "No. You don't need to do that." He's still staring at her with a tiny bit of awe. "...so you grew teeth."

A long pause.

"Sorry I missed the wedding." Under his breath, barely audible, a little sarcastic - but he still said it.

Angelique's demeanor softens. "It's alright," she says, more gently. "Though I do hope you'll make it up with me, and ask me for a dance at the next feast."

She smiles a little.

"Have you been well?"

"A dance," Sandor repeats, and this is past incredulous. Definitely. He doesn't even know what to make of that request.

...pause. "Well? I...guess." He's with Phedre. That's always enough. More than, really. More than he'd ever expected.

Angelique looks almost amused. "That's not very enthusiastic," she replies. "Is it the prospect of a dance, that tempers your legendary good mood?"

Sandor is still baffled by the change in you, Angelique. It's putting him off his grumpy.

"I haven't really thought about it."
