[Joint Post] Senbazuru (A Thousand Origami Cranes)

The past three months have been busy for Tsuzuki, but delightfully so: for a few hours each day, he and Sophie have been sequestered in a corner of the main room, folding origami paper cranes and threading a loop of colored ribbon through each one, to hang them up. Some nights, he's sat up to late hours, folding more cranes and asking the plothole

Lystra's walking along, about to go through the doorway when she notices the paper cranes hanging from the lintel. She stops to admire them, eyes wide with wonder, and reaches up to touch one gently.

She thinks they're lovely.

Can has Sophie? ^^

[sophie_darling]

Cue a Sophie pouncing Lystra's legs! "Your Majesty! Happy New Year!" She's a bit overly excited by the situation.

Lystra is also excited! And Sophie's excitement makes her even more so.

"Sophie!" she exclaims, surprised but quite happy to be pounced on. "I didn't see you there!"

[sophie_darling]

"Happy New Year, Your Majesty," Little Sophie pipes. "I hope you and the baby are happy, and he grows to be a handsome prince!"

"He is handsome already!" Lystra exclaims, rather joyfully. "But I suppose when he is grown, he will be even more handsome."

[sophie_darling]

"Oh, he will be! So, does he have a name, now? Or are you still waiting? Because I don't know, but when he will talk, he will have a problem and --"

Sophie is again talking out of turn, we're so sorry, Lystra.

Lystra doesn't mind! She hardly even notices.

"He has a name! I named him Tyan, after his grandfather."

[sophie_darling]

"That's such a lovely name!" Sophie grins wide, happy for Tyan. "I'm sure he'll be a great prince, and handsome, and he will rescue a princess!"

Lystra's smiling, too. "Are there any princesses here for him to rescue?"

It's an important question.

[sophie_darling]

"I don't know, maybe? I know there are lots of people here," Sophie replies seriously, and starts counting on her fingers. "My mama, my papa, and uncle Sandor, uncle Tsuzuki, uncle Hisoka, uncle Niko, oh, and there's Al! Al is my bestest friend ever," she informs Lystra.

She might have lost track of her initial intent.

"So there will be plenty of people for him to rescue, when he is big and strong."

Lystra sounds very certain of this.

[sophie_darling]

"Yes! And I will rescue them with him, because I'll be big too! I'll be just as big as Al," Sophie claims.

Because Al is definitely a measure to go by, in her logic.

[ofsandandstone]

"Do you mean Alphonse?" Lystra asks.

If that's the case, Sophie has a lot of growing to do.

[sophie_darling]

"Yes! He's my bestest friend. He's magic!" Which, well, can come across as a silly thing from a little girl, or not.

Sophie has seen her share of messed up things in her young time at the Mansion.

[ofsandandstone]

"Then you will be very big! He is the tallest man I've ever met!" Pause. "Is he really magic?"

She already thinks Al is awesome, but him being magic would make him 46372439856543 times better.

[sophie_darling]

"Yes! Well, I think he is? He made me a toy once. Except he was smaller. I mean, he a boy." Pause. "Well, he is a boy. But I mean he was a boy-boy..."
