(introduction) --- a mighty lammoth crushed against the rocks

Jul 27, 2010 23:58

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO--OOOOOOOOOOOOO--OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO--"

Her cry of pain flew with the wind and crashed against the rocks, falling in a thousand pieces over the earth, over the heads of the fleeing and the fallen. It rolled back and forth, telling her story of always being parted between duty and love, between family and memories, between so ( Read more... )

She might come across someone that's not an elf nor a human if she happens to wander outside towards the forest again. Iggy's sitting on a rock, feeling a small flock of birds some bird seed he found. There's quite a collection around him, mostly small sparrows and the like, but a few larger crows are taking advantage of his generousity.

His own wings are held comfortably behind him, a few sparrows taking up in the shade there. He's got a happy smile on his face and is just fine with making conversation.

Yes, Idril will certainly wander back. A part of her still wants to find a way back, and since it was the woods that apparently spewed her out when she arrived, she might as well think they'd provide a way out as well.

She notices Iggy, and the wings O.o - keen Elven sight, what can we say. She has too much dignity to clap a hand over her mouth, but she does so inwardly.

Iggy's a bit oblivious to the Lady as caught up in the birds and the apparent conversation he's having with them. "Come on, you'd think you haven't had anything to eat in years the way you're all putting this away," he chides. "I can always bring more."

If she gets close enough some of the birds may stop chirping and Icarus would tilt his head slightly, searching for an out of place sound.

"Hello?"

"--well met." It comes out a bit strangled, though we're sure Idril has seen much more frightening things and scenes in her life. Hello, orcs. They weren't even lovely, as this Atan child is. "I am sorry to interrupt you - the forest looked calm and I wished to think."

"Oh! No, no. It's fine. You aren't interrupting me." He smiles and flexes his wings a bit, causing the birds around him to find less unstable perches. "It's pretty quiet out here and you're totally welcome. Don't mind the horde, they'll leave when they figure out I'm out of food."

"Are they your friends?" Idril asks mildly. She's way over her initial surprise - we can't even call it 'shock' - and her innate curiosity has been awoken.

"My friends?" Iggy laughs a bit and shakes his head. "I don't think they see me that way. I'm just somebody that comes out here and feeds them. They like that." He tilts his head in her direction. "I'm Iggy. I don't think we've met...?"

"By the look of them, they do treat you with respect, if not with affection," Idril replies thoughtfully. She takes one more step, and then another. "My name is Idril Celebrindal, Princess of the Noldor. I -- I don't think we have met, indeed. But I am glad to be here now."

"It's nice to meet you Miss Idril." Iggy isn't very familiar with the addressing of royalty, but this is super polite for him. "Not everyone is happy to be here so I'm glad that you are. Have you been shown around yet?"

Well, Idril isn't familiar at all with this way of addressing - she didn't have the chance to meet any Hobbits in her time, we guess. Yet the manner of Iggy's speech touches her in a positive way, so she smiles even further. If her Elven senses are working well, Iggy might as well feel the positive vibes radiating from her. "More or less." There was Robin, of course. "Yet the woods, I do not know. And my folk is fond of the trees, and the grass, and of all creatures."

Iggy smiles and stands up,brushing off his pants as he does. "I can show you around then, if you want. I don't know everything there is to know about the forest, but it's a nice enough place as long as you're not out here by yourself. That might be dangerous." She seems like a nice young woman to Icarus and he's happy to show her around a bit.

Oh, aye. Forests and the things they hide. Idril should know a lot about this, as do all Elves. "I'd be very grateful should you have the time and will to do this," she accepts. "But what sorts of dangers lie in these woods?"

"There are the usual big predators," he begins, coming over to walk closer to her through the woods. "Wolves and bears and stuff. But there's also ... bigger things. And, from what I've heard, there's some really serious bad person or something living out here." He's only heard vague rumors though and doesn't know much about it.

"But there's a lot of good things too. The lake is great and there are small little areas where animals will come to eat, drink and be safe."

Idril isn't particularly happy to hear such news, but that won't put her down - honestly? The things she has seen and faced back home were a thousand times more difficult to deal with.

"I wonder if they're anything close to Morgoth's creatures," she sayes quietly.

"A few people live out in the forest too, though I don't know much about them. I tend to stay clear of their small homes since I don't want to trespass or anything, but from what I've gathered they're decent folk."

"--small?"

She'll understand that he means their size, literarily. Which might make her think they're Morgoth's creatures of some sort, er.
