[Crackplot] Elves in the woods!

Jul 14, 2010 18:33

The woods are calm this day. It's not yet high noon, and there are birds singing quietly in the trees above.

To any who do not know the secret drama behind the curtain of leaves, it is an idyllic scene in a perfect world - fresh and peaceful.

Oh, but if you knew.

Hiding somewhere in the green is Carnistir Moryofinwë, the fifth son of Fëanor, murderer ( Read more... )

Galadriel is not in the woods - she's out by the pond, reading in the leaves and listening to the winds.

Aredhel asked her - she sighed and went. She believes that she is most likely the last person that Maedhros, Maglor and Caranthir want to see - and as she is not to tread the woods alone, instead, she is looking in her own way, trying to communicate with nature, find tracks and possible hints.

So far, it's not working very well.

And here's someone who's fairly good at tracking things, given his skills as a sort of homicide detective for the afterlife, though right now, he's resting beside the pond, watching the clouds and trying to put aside the odd feelings of homesickness that have crept into his heart. As he shifts onto his elbows, he spots Galadriel nearby. "Hey, hello there, Galadriel," he says, softly, not wanting to disturb her too much.

Galadriel holds out a hand - she seems to be listening to something. A bit later, she shakes her head, as if she'd given up.

"-- Good day, Tsuzuki," she replies, and gives him a smile. "Have you been well?"

"I've been up and down, but mostly up," he says with a smile, hiding the concern and loneliness that have been filling his mind and heart. "How have you been?"

"I would lie if I told you I did not feel the same way," she replies quietly. "What ails you, my friend?"

"Ah, there's a few things weighing on my mind," he says, looking up at the clouds. "I'm feeling a little homesick, particularly for a young friend of mine there. And I've been trying not to think too much of an enemy of mine who seems to have followed me here."

"Our situations seem much the same," Galadriel replies quietly, though 'friend' may not be the best way to describe her strange and strained relationships to the missing cousins.

"Who is it, that followed you here?"

"It's a bit complicated: he's a very dangerous man who has the ability to drain lifeforce from people around him and strengthen himself from it," he says. He's minded of the vampire-like being mentioned in the Silmarillion, but he's not about to try and pronounce that name. "I was in the process of following his trail when I first ended up here, and I think it was within a month that he turned up. He's been hard to find to say the least, but then again, he gets off on making me try to find him."

What Galadriel reads in this however...

"Sauron," she says softly, with loathing under her breath.

"I wouldn't go so far as to compare him to Sauron, but he's dangerous enough," he says, grimly. "He's tried to pin me down on more than a few occasions and once he almost succeeded. Mandos has ordered his capture: we'd found where he was hiding and we were trying to enter it, when I ended up in this world. How this monster ended up here is beyond me, unless he was tracking me when he showed up."

Galadriel's jaw sets. "Tsuzuki, this is a grave matter," she says quietly. "Three of my cousins have gone missing, and only one left a trace at all."

Could it be? Someone as powerful as Sauron could probably shield her Sight.

"Oh, trust me: I really doubt he's Sauron, unless he's been reborn under a different form, but I suppose anything is possible." Both fiends in questions are lacking an eye of course... "And even if he was, he's a hell of a lot more interested in me and doing unspeakable things with my body."

"All the same," Galadriel replies tiredly. "Will you assist me? In your time of need, I will assist you in return."

"Of course I would," he says, rising and bowing to her. "You've been kind to me, and I'm honored to return the favor any time you need me."

Galadriel smiles a little, there's always that streak of serene sadness in her eyes, though.

"As I just told you, three of my cousins are missing," she says again. "I have been asked to help - but I also promised the High King not to venture in the woods alone..."

"I was heading into the woods in a bit, just to stretch my legs, but I'd be glad to accompany you and protect you," he says, rising and bowing to her. "I could even bring in a little extra protection, if you like: I can summon a guardian spirit if you like."
