He finds the
chapel on the edge of the woods, and to his dismay, he discovers that the forest had started to try and reclaim it. The frame stood solid and a roof and a floor had been started, but construction had ceased and now last year's grass grew up between the beams supporting the floor. Creepers have begun to climb up the frame, threatening to engulf it, unless they were cleared away first. It is likely to be a daunting task, but it is one that he is glad to shoulder and he pauses to offer a prayer of thanksgiving that God has granted him this task.
Once he finds a scythe and a sickle and a few other tools, he sets to work, climbing a ladder propped against one skeletal wall and pulling down the creepers before digging up their roots. Next he sets to work cutting the grass that has grown through the floor. The hardest part, once he finds an axe and an adze, is cutting timber to shape into new boards to continue covering the floor and sheathing the walls. He is tempted to find some reeds to weave into wattle and then cover it with daub from the lake, but God and one of His Hallows deserve a solid structure, not a hut. It will take time and many hands and he is open to and grateful for anyone who comes along and who offers help of any kind...
