[Crackplot] Teen Ager Spring Dance! Woo!

Mar 13, 2010 14:17

Genevieve has been plotting with her friends - and talking them into doing things. The best part was when Warren said he would make snacks, and she had thrown her arms around his neck and kissed him in impetuous gratitude. Part of her was hoping for a chance to dance with him, at one point or other - to make up for their false start at that ( Read more... )

Tsuzuki found a flier on the kitchen table as he was cooking chocolate chip pancakes (or what resembled them) the morning of the party. "Wow! A spring dance? Count me in!" he cries. "I wonder if Duck and Wendla and Madame Margot will be there."

Later that evening, after finding a white tuxedo in his closet and putting it on, he heads down to the ballroom...

And as he enters, a bit of a change takes place: he's a few inches shorter and his shoulders aren't quite as broad, and his voice will be a tad higher-pitched when he speaks, but he's not a whole lot different from the bouncy, cheerful fellow with the comforting air of darkness about him. Whoa, is Ariel at it again? he thinks. Well, this way, I get to be eighteen again and enjoy it this time...

Is it? she wonders. But who else would have those lovely eyes! She curtsies elegantly. "Monsieur Tsuzuki?"

He smiles broadly as he approaches and bows deeply to her. "You got it, milady," he says. "I almost didn't recognize me either... But you look wonderful!"

She smiles a coquette's smile. Oh yes, this one is temperamentally much closer to her theatrical days than to being the dignified Lady Blakeney. "Thank you. I would not have known you either but for your eyes."

He laughs, and it's likely one of the first times he's felt pleased about his eye color, since it's the first time someone he cares about has complimented him for them. "Ah-ha-ha, that's one way to find me anyway, since I'm told no one's ever had this eye color before or since," he says. Then with another bow, as "I Only Have Eyes for You" begins to play, he asks, "May I have this dance, milady?"

"But now that look reminds me of my brother! Watch out, monsieur, lest I feel forced to scold you!" She laughs again, because she is only teasing. "I would love to dance." She curtsies.

"Hey, I don't mind: aren't ladies supposed to get after their gentlemen and keep them in line because they worry about them?" he asks, playfully: he clearly wouldn't mind a loving scolding from her. And with that he holds out a hand to her, ready to lead her into the dance...

"I wouldn't want to seem a scold." She steps back, giggling and dipping her chin to peer at him through her eyelashes. But her hand goes out to take his.

He takes her hand gladly and draws her closer. "Hm... I think the waltz was probably before your time, but I think I can remember the minuet."

"If the music suits. Teach me something new if needed." She is quite graceful enough to pick up on anything quickly.

"It would be an honor, milady, but I'd better warn you: this dance was considered scandalous when it was first introduced, since it allows a couple to dance closely, with the gent's hand on the lady's waist and her hand on his shoulder," he says, almost with a conspiratorial air, a blush crossing his face.

"I don't mind a little scandal. No one who chooses to be an actress can afford to mind it." She pats his cheek playfully.

"Aha-ha, I'll do my best to respect your honor anyway, milady," he says. "The basic step is fairly simple," he says, demonstrating the basic one-two-three pattern for her.

And she's a fast study. "Don't worry so much. I can look to my own honor. I have a chaperon around here somewhere." By that, she means her little brother.

"Aha-ha, I still wouldn't want to get them mad at me if they thought I got too forward with you," he says, mischievously as he turns her toward him and guides her hand to his shoulder before setting his hand delicately on her waist.

"Armand hardly gets mad at anyone. He's quite a dear and into youthful mischief all his own."

[As agreed, FTB?]
