The best part was when Warren said he would make snacks, and she had thrown her arms around his neck and kissed him in impetuous gratitude. Part of her was hoping for a chance to dance with him, at one point or other - to make up for their false start at that

Nina's currently standing in a corner, looking awkward. This music is old to her, so she feels a little out of place. However, she's still looking around for anyone she might know.

Unfortunately, it's not a person she knows who approaches her, but he looks nevertheless like a pleasant young man.

"You look lost."

She smiles at the stranger and shrugs. "I guess I am--this feels like a weird party. I mean, no offense to the person who started it, but the music isn't exactly modern right now."

He arches an eyebrow.

"Very true. Although if this party were shaped by my taste in music, there wouldn't be a soul around here, most probably."

"But I'm rude. Actually, wrong start. I'm Adrian."

She laughs. "I'm Nina. What's your taste in music like?"

[iwalkindreams]

"Adrian. Very pleased," he drawls.

(This is also a way more!daredevil version of Adrian; though sometimes he can also fall back to being extremely shy.)

"And your answer is, loud. Very loud. And quite eclectic. But anyhow, there's only one band, actually."

"Loud? Probably not my thing, then. I'm more of a hip-hop person, I guess." She shrugs again. "But, whatever."

He's amused. "I'd like to see that." He fumbles for a cigarette in the breast pocket of his shirt. "Would you like to grab something to drink?"

"Are you chatting me up?" she asks with a laugh.

He makes a face, trying to look offended. Then he turns his head as if to see if she was 'talking to someone behind him'.

"Ah, you were talking to me?"

"Just checking," she says with a smile.

"And if I were?" he plays along.

She blushes. "I wouldn't know what to do, honestly."

[iwalkindreams]

"Don't do anything," he winks. "Come have a drink."

"Alright," she says, amused.

Typist willing, Adrian leads the way to the table where the drinks are set.

"What's your poison?"
