[Open Post - Titus Groan] Titus Arranging

May 20, 2014 02:09

The recent sudden departures of people for whom he cared has weighed on Titus's mind. But in these cases, one cannot know where this friend or lover has gone, and what took ( Read more... )

Melou goes marching down to the lake after he sees the notice. He is not pleased.

"Titus," he calls out, when he spots his friend. He sounds very annoyed about something.

He'll find Titus on the shore, sleeves rolled up, kneeling over a up-turned rowboat, examining the bottom. He'll look up as Melou approaches and he rises to his feet. "Melou," he says, bowing his head. "You have seen the notice which I posted?" he asks.

"I have not left yet," he replies, glancing to the boat. "Though I do hope to open a way out of this place, for anyone who has grown tired of feeling confined to the four walls of the house and the edges of the grounds."

"It won't work," Melou says, unable to help sounding sulky. "Nobody ever finds a way out."

"Yes, I found that out by dint of hard experience, one time when I tried to quit this place on my own," he admits. "But the thought came to me, if enough people made a concerted effort in a bid to find a way out, perhaps their numbers might affect the powers in this place and they might open a passage for them. There have been instances where people have left in numbers unannounced, what is to keep us from making the effort to initiate such an occurrence?"

"I confess, I often feel confined here," he admits. "It isn't for want of good company, but for a want of a change in scenery. You are welcome to join us in our expedition. I would be honored to give you a place in my boat."

"No one has come forward to say that they have," Titus replies, much more certain of success. "But this time might be that someone finds that portal and the means to tell others how to pass through to freedom."

"And what if you do? Are you going to come back and rescue everyone?"

Melou thinks this is a stupid idea.
