Sam always got antsy before a new show. It was silly, he knew, and he even already had buyers emailing him constantly, wanting to purchase this piece or that piece before they even went up on display. The day before, and the anxiety and shower of comments and last minute changes was starting to overwhelm him (as it often did and still nobody thought to maybe pull back a bit), so he left. Just for a short walk to clear his head and he made sure to leave a written note on the kitchen counter AND text Caleb so his little brother would know where he was.
He's done this before, it shouldn't be a big deal really, but just in case. Their lives tended to revolve around 'just in case' lately.
Sam liked the way the air smelled crisp and clean out here. It was cold, sure, but he'd bundled up for his walk and didn't have plans to head back any time soon. Just let his mind drift and enjoy the peace for maybe an hour or three.
He maybe should have been paying more attention as when he came out of his 'zone', he didn't recognize the area at all. How had he gotten so far into the forest? Pulling out his cell, he frowned at the readout. No bars and nearly no battery left. Great. Sam started forward again, following what looked like a trail until he came to ... Wow. He's trespassing, he's sure of it. People with homes like that didn't take kindly to strangers on their property! but maybe if he pleads his case, they'll let him explain and maybe even offer a lift back into town.
Weird. He didn't remember a home this size being that close to his own...

Typist: Souji
Other relevant info: Sam is 100% vanilla human. Doesn't come from a world where there's magic or monsters or anything like that. Sam is also profoundly Deaf. He was late deafened, so speaks as well as a hearing person, but when he is worked up or emotional (as he is likely to be at first at the mansion), he will start to have more of a Deaf accent and drop letters and syllables from speech. He is a fluent signer (ASL) and a great lip reader.
