(open) every man has to die

Agravain wakes up in the same place that he died: down by the lake, under a big fir tree. The situation feels eerily familiar. It's not the first time he's died and woken up in the Mansion grounds, though this time he's not covered in his own blood. In fact, he's strangely clean for someone who was shot seven times and then buried underground for ( Read more... )

If Aggy should head upstairs to the second floor, he might pass by a door propped open. A cheery male voice calls out from behind it: "Well. look who wandered in: thought you'd fallen through a crack in space and time, or a dragon decided you look tasty." Once he peers inside, he'll find Jack in bed, close by a half-open window, propped up on a pile of pillows, the covers pulled up over his chest.

Agravain comes over and leans against the doorframe. "Actually, I fell into the lake and was eaten alive by tiny fish."

Which is not what really happened, of course. But he isn't going to tell Jack the truth.

I'm, er, not sure whether it would be visible that Jack is pregnant or not? Is it hidden by the covers? Because when/if Aggy realises, he'll almost have a heart attack XD There's no way it could possibly be his, considering how long he's been dead, but he's probably not entirely sure how long he was gone, so he wouldn't necessarily know that...

Jack chuckles at this. "Mustve taken 'em a while: they got a lot to work on," he quips back. He'll pat the mattress next to him. "Come over here: I'd get up to kiss you, but my doctor's got me on bedrest: threatened to shackle me to the bed if I didn't stop sneakin' out."

The bedcovers aren't hiding his condition as well as they used to, which is partly why our boy has been in hiding: he's mortified by his appearance (vanity, thy name is Jack Harkness...).

so, i'm trying to get caught up on things, i think we could summarise this one? agravain will facepalm a lot when he realises jack is pregnant and then be relieved when he figures out it couldn't possibly be his.

Works for me! He'll explain the physiology a bit (comes from a time and place where this sort of thing is not unusual, etc), and reassure Aggy that he's definitely not the father).
