Agravain wakes up in the same place that he died: down by the lake, under a big fir tree. The situation feels eerily familiar. It's not the first time he's died and woken up in the Mansion grounds, though this time he's not covered in his own blood. Perhaps when Aggravain has come up to the porch, he might hear someone banging away on a bunch of buckets and pans, the racket coming from the rear of the porch.

If he follows the noise, he'll come upon that skinny crow-clown thing, beating away on a crude drum kit rigged from buckets and pans and a metal wastepaper bin. Ryuk is likely so engrossed in his drum solo, he might not realize he has company at first...

Well, Ryuk is the closest thing to a friend Agravain has at the Mansion, so he's going to head over when he sees him.

"Ryuk," he calls, over the racket.

Ryuk bangs out a final flourish and looks up. "Hey, Aggy, my man, how yah been? Long time no see," he says. "Thought yah were dead: the house fall on yah when it came down?" he asks, with his usual gleefully dark cheer.

"No," Agravain says, and raises his eyebrows. "The house fell down?"

"Yup: whole place started rockin' an' rattlin', then *ka-blooey*, all fell down like a bunch of cards," he says, throwing his hands up and spreading his fingers, as if to demonstrate the results of the quake. "Killed a bunch of people, most found places to hide. A week later, the place put itself back together. Weird."

"Interesting," Agravain says. "Who died?"

He doesn't sound concerned in the least. He's just curious.

"Whole bunch've people: a guy from my world, bunch of tall pretty people, some guy who looks like he got chomped by a vampire, a girl or two I'd never met personally," he reels off.
