[Introduction] My eyes don't shed tears/But boy they pour when I'm thinking bout you

Honestly, it was an impulsive decision. Suddenly up and leaving like this with little other than a letter for the parents. Sometimes in those motel rooms, Cal or rather... Callie really regrets doing it.

Something clicked in that library when Callie looked up what exactly she was in the dictionary. It hurt her, right to her soul, but something did click. She was faking all this time, as badly as she wanted to be a normal girl that liked boys, had periods, and did all the normal things a teenage girl would. It was all false. Being a girl was for the most part, an act for the teen. An act done so well, Callie fooled herself. So being true for the first time, hurts a lot, despite the brave and newly minted face Cal had. Inside Cal was still that girl, desperate to be normal, nursing a crush on a lazy red-headed schoolmate that made Callie wonder about herself.

The Object. Callie simultaneously still loved and loathed her, she was sure if she didn't meet her, this would never happen. She would still be awkward, slightly strange Callie.

But it wasn't true.

As Cal walks outside the motel in the cold overcast winter morning with a suitcase to the highway, he suddenly feels grateful that it's drizzling. The tears can just be misinterpreted for the rain falling on his face.

While he's walking, the scenery may change from urban concrete and bleak winter to dirt and the bright beauty of fall.
Cal may suddenly stop in his tracks.

What just happened?
