The Shy Intellectual Type in_summer_leaf April 6 2011, 16:21:26 UTC
Hisoka is having a bit of a struggle getting his intellectual persona interfaced with the Arabian Nights fantasy theme, but he does like a challenge.

In the end, he dons his "Hot Librarian" garb - a crisp white shirt over flannel trousers and softly polished loafers, topped with a casually-knotted black tie and a pair of "intellectual spectacles" - big, round, silver wire-rims, through which his large green eyes gleam intelligently. (And shyly!)

Then he puts a silver bangle on his wrist. It is formed in the shape of a snake that wraps several times around his slender, sinewy forearm. Emerald eyes gleam from its head, and a forked, ruby tongue darts from its mouth.

Then he stands near the door, quietly waiting to greet the guests and other Hosts.

Helen wasn't aware of this event - it's much closer to her style than the shenanigans down below, so she'll wander in and look curiously at the hosts, but when she spots Hisoka (a familiar face! this is nice!) She grins a bit wider.

"Good afternoon," she says, smiling. "I see you've found a project to busy yourself with."

Hope that's alright? Will be slow, but. Will exist, I promise. ^^

"I have," Hisoka replies, returning the smile, "and how are you, Ms. Curtis?"

Of course it's all right. XD And thanks.

"I'm well, Hisoka," she replies, and she's smiling because she does enjoy the young man's company. She's also slightly amused by his attire, though it's all good-natured.

(We reckon that if he knew of her connection to Muraki, it may change, perhaps, though she is unknowledgeable of his Paleness's less savory proclivities.)

"Might I ask you what is -- happening here?"

"Oh, this is Hunny's project," explains Hisoka. "Apparently, there was a Host Club at his school in his own world, and he wanted to recreate it here. It's kind of a formalized way to interact with people, for fun. He wanted 'types,' so I resurrected my former self - one aspect of him, anyway! I don't suppose it would serve the Club's purpose to have the guests greeted by a two-fisted recluse/thug." He smiles. He is very pleased to see Helen.

(Hisoka seems not to be aware of His Paleness's large social/family network. Somebody will probably tell him, sooner or later. :D)

"I'm supposed to ask if you'd like some refreshments. Tea, coffee, cookies?" He indicates one of the gorgeously decorated areas where people can sit around small tables on pillows or low but comforable divans.

"Tea, if you don't mind," Helen replies, still smiling. "So in effect, this is... a salon, and you are acting as one of the waiters, am I correct in my understanding?"

This is a charming idea, she thinks - and very nice, in that it does create the impression of an economic life at the Mansion.

"It is a salon, I'd say. But I guess I'm more like a geisha than a waiter." Quick, shy smile. "Pleasent, intelligent conversation; a sympathetic ear; and yes, you get waited on. Oh, and sit wherever you please! Excuse me..."

He goes to the refreshments area and returns with a tea pot and cups. He takes the liberty of assuming Helen would like him to join her. The tea is fragrant; it has been spiced lightly.

Helen would not have it any other way, really. She'll find a place to sit, her legs folded neatly to the side, she might even recline a little.

This is richer than she's used to - or than her taste requires, really, but it's alright.

"You are quite gifted at this," she tells Hisoka when he returns. "Please, do take a seat."

"Oh, thank you," he replies, pleased with the compliment. He sits opposite her and quickly arranges the tea things. He pours out the tea, and gracefully hands her a steaming cup. "So! What would you like to talk about?"

Helen accepts the cup graciously and looks a bit embarassed at being.. served, but she'll deal.

"Anything you wish, really. Tell me, have you been well?"

"Yes...well, I've been busy. But I have to admit I felt really disoriented all winter."

"It's not a feeling you've been alone to experience," Helen replies patiently. "Even after all those years in New York..."

She smiles nostalgically.

She's used to Perth and its warm weather.

"You've had the same feeling?" Hisoka asks, picking up his own cup.

"I grew up in a very warm and dry climate," Helen explains. "It's what feels the most natural to me."

Hisoka nods. "I see! Winters at the Mansion are cold and snowy, and spring and fall are liable to be wet. Where did you grow up?"

"In Perth," Helen replies, "in Australia, of course. Have you ever been there?"
