[Crackplot] When the world ends...

Dec 16, 2012 17:39

It has taken time for this to happen, for the Dark Lord to gather it all, his influence of that which is not Arda but close enough to it, that which he hates about all else for the light of it remains a beacon ( Read more... )

Reese is not a member of ye Shadow Angels, and yet, he's assigned himself a patrol of the house and the grounds, twice daily, to keep himself from going stir-crazy.

He was on the third floor staircase heading for the ground floor when he feels the first tremor hit, and so he turns to quicken his pace and find a doorway to duck into. Standard earthquake protocol.

The stairs roll beneath his feet, knocking him off solid ground as everything starts to crumple around him. Remembering his training during his stint in Afghanistan, where rockslides in the mountains were a hazard to prepare for, he tries to right himself and descend feet first, in a bid to surf the debris. But the wreckage is packing in around him, making it impossible to tell which end is up...

When he finally hits the ground floor, he's buried in pieces of the roof, splinters of wood and chunks of plaster, the top of his head and one arm sticking from the pile, unmoving...

Warning: He's not gonna make it, but he could use some morale support on the way...

And as it often happens when the Enemy strikes, Pandora's Thirst is stronger than usual, she feels more beastly, more prone to giving in. She was taking a flight when it happened, and she flew back in like a madwoman, looking for her beloved.

Instead, she finds this one, buried.

And what is still human in her tells her to stop, to look.

What isn't tells her to feed, and so she struggles.

Thought it might be interested? Also, I posted Nik as you posted Reese...

The hand moves, trying to push away some of the debris from in front of his face, but his movements are weak and disoriented. He manages to waggle his head free, gasping. "Ugh, feels like the whole house fell on me," he mutters. "Can't feel my legs..."

He might not realize that he has company...

Oooh! Perfect!!

"The staircase fell upon you," Pandora croons, kneeling.

For now, the two parts of her are in agreement, and so she can handle this. "I am Pandora - let me..."

And though she might be inhumanly strong, she proceeds to remove the rubble patiently and slowly, so as not to dismember him accidentally.

She'll eventually uncover a splintered rod from a banister that's embedded itself into his spine, and another bigger piece of wood that's pierced one leg through the thigh, passing through it completely. He's bleeding profusely from both wounds....

"Not sure this makes it better or worse, but... thanks... all the same," he says, between labored breaths.

She can feel life draining out of him, just as the blood, so much of it, is driving her a little bit insane with lust.

Her fangs show, and that makes her spin a web for him.

Pandora will reach to touch his hair, she might kiss his cheeks gently.

"It's only a passage," she murmurs, "and I will make it painless for you."

Permission to euthanize?

He might eye her fangs with confusion at first, then his eyes widen a bit. "You're... serious..." he rasps, not sure he's seeing what he's seeing or if the pain and blood loss is making him hallucinate. But he doesn't object: any way to end this pain seems a good end...

And maybe it will get him out of here...

Permission duly granted!

"Thank you," she murmurs, as one does to a lover.

Pandora caresses his hair, then, and with a quiet sigh, she turns his head so that his carotid will be well exposed. Her gestures are exquisitely tender, and she reaches inside his mind, to weave a fantasy of a better world, a better place, and makes it tangible, for him, just as she bites.

The bite itself will be orgasmic, and she will drink, and drink, to feed and to kill, and to end his suffering.

His is the blood of a fighter, strong and thick and rich, nourishing...

He'll descend into his own mind, away from the pain, and dream of the last place that felt like home, before the Towers came down on 9-11, before Afghanistan and another tour in Iraq and before the CIA, long before Harold Finch rescued him from the maelstrom of his (Reese's) despair. He'll dream of Jessica, holding him, her head nestled into the angle of his neck. That perfect world he'd dared to dream of, a normal life with Jessica. Not most people's idea of perfection, but after what he saw in Iraq and Korea, it was his idea of a dream.

He'll dream of being in her arms, at peace, no pain, no shadows...

When it's done, Pandora lays his body to rest - she knows the Mansion returns them, though there's never been a catastrophe of this breadth before, and that weighs on her.

But she wants to believe, and so his body is laid so that he'll be safe from other predators, and off she goes.

She has a beloved to find, and comfort.

FTB? I'd love for him to meet her when he comes back!

FTB! And I think he's likely to thank her for letting him break free like that...
