Seventh Stop→SIEM REAP / ANGKOR WAT

While waiting for my passport to get permission to entry Vietnam at the boarder from Cambodia, I decided to write the entry about Siem Reap/Angkor Wat. Siem Reap is the nearest city to the famous temple complex of Angkor Wat so most tourists visiting the temples are staying there. The hostel Yui and I stayed at is called Angkor Wall and run by Hank from Taiwan. Hank is a designer and put much thought in decorating the place very uniquely, just have a look at the pictures!

The whole temple complex of Angkor Wat is around 300km² big and there are still temples and monuments being discovered! The most famous is the Angkor Wat Temple as it's used on the Cambodian flag. The number of people visiting that temple a rising every year. It's especially popular with tourists from China and Japan.

A more quiet expierence was the trip to the remains of the temple Beng Mealea. Beng Mealea is around 60km away from the main temples so not so many tourists go there yet. The place turned out to be one of my favourite since it was a lot of fun to clamber up the ruins and discover the remains this way.

Another temple Yui and I got to visit was Angkor Thom which was the last capital city of the Angkorian empire. The main temple features many towers with four stone faces on top, each facing a different direction. It is not really known why there are so many faces which makes the place very mysterious.

And then I had to spent three days in the hotel because of sickness. So unfortunetly I couldn't really try out and enjoy all the lovely restaurants and cafes in Siem Reap. My stomach is much better now and therefore I'm ready for all the food that Vietnam has to offer. First stop will be Ho Chi Minh City, the biggest city in Vietnam. See you☆彡
