listening to joseph
you know what i just pointed out to stephanie? i will tell you. we were listening to "pharaoh story" from joseph and the amazing technicolour dreamcoat, and both commenting on how much we liked that song and the prologue (they share the same tune, and also both have pretty inspiring and hopeful themes in the lyrics, too). and then i pointed out to her (and i stand by this) there is something so magical and great about that tune, especially the bit that is the tune of "strange as it seems/ there's been a run of crazy dreams/ and a man who can interpret could go far" and of "we all dream a lot/ some are lucky some are not/ but if you think it, want it, dream it, then it's real". yeah, anyways, i pointed out that i would kind of like to have my whole life sung to that tune in the same way that most of what a shakespearean character says is in iambic pentameter. i could sing everything in that cool tune.
of course, sylvia is so sick of listening to joseph that she would probably break off the engagement if i did that, so nevermind. but maybe, like, for one day a year there could be a spell on me that made everything i say come out as in that form. that would be so cool.
