I will never work in food-service. This is why:
Customer at Subway: Okay, I'd like a footlong turkey on wheat with cheese on one half of it. With lettuce and tomatoes. And on the side without cheese, put some pickles. And I'd like a little bit of mustard on the side with cheese, and a lot of mustard on the side without cheese. And a few olives. NO, I only wanted olives on the side without cheese! And put some banana peppers on the side with cheese.
Subway "Sandwich Artist": Is this for here or to go?
Irritating Customer: (The sandwich is already wrapped up at this point) Well, I want the side with cheese for here and the side without cheese to go. But since you just went ahead and wrapped it up as one without asking me, I guess it will all just have to be for here.
This process would have been a lot less strenuous if the customer had just ordered two separate sandwiches. The two halves were not the same at all. Ordering it as one sandwich has less logic than a taco salad.
