People keep defriending me. This is totally understandable; I am boring and this has been a fic-free environment for a long time now. I keep thinking about writing fic, but I don't have any time to, you know, do so.
Yesterday I found
this (the red one) waiting for me when I got home. Happy early birthday to me! My father, man. I mean, not that I don't appreciate it, because I have been coveting netbooks for quite some time now, but he really didn't need to spend the money on me. Still, though. I will enjoy it while I'm on vacation. And once I get used to the tiny, adorable keyboard, I might even get some writing done. Okay, probably not, but a girl can dream.
Also yesterday my sister and her entourage showed up at my job with a giant, shiny, dragonfly-shaped helium balloon, dark chocolate peppermint cupcakes, and the birthday song. It was hilarious, listening to two tone-deaf toddlers singing 'happy birthday you' (not a typo) over and over at the top of their lungs. (I thought my employee was going to have an aneurysm, but guess what? Don't really care.)
After all that I went home and
finally got around to making this:
It's a badly sewn camp shirt for a four-year-old which is probably going to be too small anyway! Go me. I'm still terrible at collars, though, so I reckon it was good practice. Probably I'll have to get more fabric and do it again. It's seriously dreadful.
This is a better representation of the actual color:
Other news: I made a little over $100 on eBay this week, which will give me some spending money for my trip. I have a new haircut which is exactly the same as my old haircut, but it was getting crazy long so that's under control.
And that's what I know. I am leaving work at noon today. I've had a cupcake for breakfast. I leave at midnight tonight for a week and change at the beach. I will have internet access while I'm there. I get to see
writingpathways in just over a week. The giant dragonfly balloon is doing its job of freaking out my employee. All things considered, it's shaping up to be a good birthday week.
