I woke up this morning to two adorable text messages from my coworker, who is currently watching Dexter season one for the very first time. I wish I could have the virgin experience with Dexter, period! I only watched the show after having read all three books last summer, so I already knew what the ending of s1 was, and was just looking out for how much they'd change things.

True, you have it worse than me because you never got the virgin television experience. Though I have to say that reading the first book after watching season one left me pretty confused. I caught on eventually to the changes, but if I'd read it without context I think it would have been easier to glean what was going on before I got to book two. I'm just grateful I could get my mitts on book two the very same day.

But on the upside, if I'd seen the TV show before reading the book, I don't think I'd've liked the book NEARLY as much!

Icon love!

Also, I think I said this when we met, but that's definitely true. Seeing the show first did make the book less enjoyable. Though having the benefit of hearing Michael C. Hall's voice in my head as I read it wasn't so bad.

Ooooh, yeah -- that's EXACTLY why I reread the books after seeing the show, too! To hear him narrating! :)
